An Introduction

My name is Addison Cole and I am a performer with a passion for film and theatre production. At least, that's the official condensed version! As Julie Andrews said in her 2022 AFI Life Achievement Award speech, "... film [is] an art form and should always be called that. It is so much more than just an industry or the business."

I'm still discovering my own place in this art form. There are so many wonderful opportunities here that I'm waiting for the right one to grab my attention and say, "Hey - I've been waiting for you!" I am beyond proud of my early work in film and television production, acting, post-production editing, news reporting, character performing, and production assisting - and now I can't wait to see where I am off to next.

A Brief Background

Entertainment has always left me in awe, but it was in 2016 when little Addison was crying in the movie theater over Disney's Moana that I knew I needed to be involved. I followed that passion and in 2021 graduated from James Madison University with a BA in Film and Theater Production. My first study was theater performance as I loved the fast-paced exhilaration of live theater. However, after my year-long break from school when I worked as a Character Performer at Disney World, I wanted more. I changed my priorities, and major, to focus on film production where the opportunities seemed endless.

I got right to work by joining the school's news team where I grew from PA to Reporter to Line Producer. I assisted in short films, learning the rules of filmmaking. I had internships for production and post-production, and eventually I was thrilled to create my first short film, which won a Film Freeway award.

This all gave me an extreme amount of preparation for my first full time job out of school where I worked as a PA for WWE! I had a hectic and delightful time rushing to deliver equipment around the arenas and learning how to communicate with other networks.

My next opportunity came faster than anticipated as Disney Cruise Line offered - and I accepted - a Character Performer contract. After months of rehearsal in Toronto it was ship living and 7-day-a-week work for another four months. "Aaand loving it" (-Get Smart, Agent 86). And surprise, surprise, now the performance and acting bug is back and it has led me all the way to New York City.

So finally, now, I'm "Focusing on what?" you may ask. I haven't quite narrowed that down yet. Some television PA work, a bit of editing here, a bit of acting there, and a whole lot of applying for jobs and deciding what I want to accomplish in the entertainment world.

I just know entertainment is where I need to be, so here I am, taking every opportunity to hone my crafts until one becomes home.

My mission is to join a creative team that leaves amazed audiences saying, “WOW!”

Image

My immediate professional goal is to join a team of videographers or cinematographers who create high-quality industrial or entertainment productions. So what good is back-stage and on-stage work to a cinematographer, you ask. Easy answer - I have first-hand knowledge and appreciation of the rehearsing, blocking, sawing, building, painting, lighting and micing that go into successful productions. I'm a 20-something year old with 12+ years of on-the-job training!

Thanks for your interest and time perusing my background. I look forward to discussing how I can contribute to your next project. I'm as close as my contact page.

Now, Roll Cameras and GO DUKES!
